About This Camp
The UCI men's and women's rowing teams invite boys and girls ages 10-17 to experience the thrill of rowing on beautiful Newport Bay. No experience is necessary! The UCI rowing staff will teach the fundamentals of the rowing stroke to beginners and build on the rowing skills learned at previous camps. The day will include on-the-water instruction with a 4:1 camper-to-coach ratio, rowing land activities, and fun team building exercises. A swim test (100 yard swim and 5 minutes treading water in the bay) will be conducted on the first day of camp.
NEW THIS YEAR - ADVANCED ROWING CAMP. To enroll in this session the camper must be entering high school OR have completed 2 or more sessions of the learn to row camp (previous summers okay). This session will focus on refining on-the-water rowing skills as well as increasing physical fitness and flexibility. A swim test (100 yard swim and 5 minutes treading water in the bay) will be conducted on the first day of camp. Campers must wear tennis shoes and socks to each session.
