Summer Camp Information
UC Irvine Head Tennis Coaches Trevor Kronemann and Mike Edles invite campers to eight sessions of the highly popular UC Irvine Tennis Camp this summer. From the novice player to the experienced player, boys and girls ages 8-17 will learn techinical skills, footwork, conditioning and match play strategies in both drill and game situations. Each camper will receive a written evaluation. Morning sessions (9:00-12:00) focus on technical instruction, drilling, point play, match play strategies, patterns of play, and conditioning. Campers are grouped in appropriate ability levels.

Afternoon sessions (1:00-4:00) focus primarily on match play in a team setting (Davis Cup Format) wherein singles and doubles are played to determine the winning team. A round robin format is played throughout the week with coaches on court giving instruction, encouragement and on court strategy to the campers. Technical, strategic, and tactical fundamentals are worked on throughout the week, though the emphasis is on match management skills, point construction, team dynamics, rules, and sportsmanship.

Full day sessions (9:00-4:00) include all the above, a catered lunch, and lunch time activities. Swimming is an optional activity from 1:00-2:00 while others are on court (full day and afternoon sessions only).

Camp awards are given to campers who excel in these areas: sportsmanship, most improved, best all around camper, best drill team, and Davis Cup Team Champions.

Camp Policy and Information

UCI Discount
Dependents of current members of UC Irvine Faculty/Staff/Alumni Association are eligible for 10% discount per session. UC Irvine Employee ID number or Alumni Association membership number must be included at the time of enrollment. This discount is applicable if the parent/guardian paying for the camp is a member of UC Irvine Faculty/Staff/Alumni Association. For Alumni Association information, call (949) UCI-ALUM (824-2586). The Faculty/Staff/Alumni Association offer cannot be combined with the 2 or more discount.

2 or More Discount
To qualify for the 2 or more discount, registration must be submitted together at one time. Discount will not be applied retroactively. If registering online, it must be under one account holder with one credit card payment. If registering by paper application, two check payments will be accepted.

Extended Care
Complimentary Extended Care is available during the hours of 7:30am-9:00am and 3:00pm-5:30pm. Extended Care is located on the soccer field adjacent to the tennis courts. Extended Care activities include board games and field games. It is on a drop-in basis, no registration required. The late pick-up fee is $20 per any part of each 15 minutes late for pick up after 5:30pm. Privileges will be revoked after the first warning.

Refund Policy
Written request for a transfer, credit or cancellation must be submitted to the Camps Office. There is a $35 per camp session cancellation fee for all cancellations made at least two weeks prior to the first day of the camp. If cancellation, for any any reason including medical, is made within two weeks of the first day of camp, there is a $75 cancellation fee. No cancellation refunds will be processed after the first day of the camp. No refunds will be issued upon expulsion or voluntary withdrawal from camp.

This discount policy does not apply to all camps.
