Mark Williams - Franchisee, Wienerschnitzel (Irvine location) What can you tell us about Wienerschnitzel? Wienerschnitzel was founded by John Galardi back in 1961. We are the world's largest hot dog chain with more than 340 stores in ten states, serving more than 120 million hot dogs annually. At my store, located at 4501 Jamboree Road, not only can you get one of our signature chili dogs, you should also try our beloved corn dogs, chili cheese fries, chili cheeseburgers and specialty items. And make sure you don't leave without trying one of our soft serve treats from Tastee Freez. Why are you involved with UC Irvine? I attended the GSM program at the University of California, Irvine and graduated in 1996, so there's a special place in my heart for UCI. We are not too far from the campus and it's great to see the students stop in and grab a bite to eat. I like to think we can offer them a change of pace from other fast food locations that are also close to the campus. My Wienerschnitzel location can be a great place to read or study, especially during in the evening and on the weekends. Do you attend UC Irvine athletic events? I am a basketball fan, so I have been to a few games. My son also attended basketball camp at UCI. What is your most memorable Anteater moment? We sponsor the "three point" promotion. It was great to see the Eaters hit that 8th three pointer, so everyone who attended the game that evening would receive a FREE Chili Dog at my location. How can fans benefit from your products? Wienerschnitzel offers customers great food at a great value and with our latest promotion, 5 for $4, students and faculty can get just that. This promotion allows them to customize their order by choosing five of the following items for just $4: Original Hot Dog, Original Relish Dog, Corn Dog, Regular Fries, a Small Drink, and a Kid's Tastee Freez Cone. That is a lot of food at a really low price. Is Wienerschnitzel interested in hiring interns or graduating students? If so, how can they find out more information? We are always looking for good team members if students want to make a little extra money working part time. We are a great place to work.
