UC Irvine Competes at NCAA West Regional Saturday

UCI COMPETES AT REGIONAL: The UC Irvine cross country teams compete in the NCAA West Regional Saturday (Nov. 10) in Springfield, Ore., just outside of Eugene. Site of the competition is the Springfield Country Club.

The men's 10,000-meter race begins at 11:00 a.m. with the women's 6,000 meters at 12:15 p.m. The top two teams and top four individuals from non-qualifying teams automatically advance to the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., Nov. 19.

UCI's Laura Olvera finished third at last year's regional and placed 83rd of 253 runners at the NCAA Championships.

The Anteater women's team finished third and the men's squad fifth at the Big West Championships Oct. 27 in San Luis Obispo. Olvera was third in the women's race while Nick Mosey led the men's team with a 19th-place showing
