Francis Larson Voted ESPN the Magazine District VIII All-AcademicMay 8, 2008
IRVINE, Calif. --- Outfielder Francis Larson (Yorba Linda/Esperanza HS) was voted to the ESPN the Magazine District VIII All-Academic first team. Larson, a sophomore majoring in philosophy, has helped to power the Anteaters to a 31-12 overall record. Larson is first on the team with six home runs, second with 33 RBI and 12 doubles and third with 52 hits. He is also tied for first with nine multiple-RBI games and has reached base safely in 21 of the last 23 games. Larson is a five-time Dean's List member and was a Big West Scholar-Athlete as a freshman. In order to be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his career and must be at least a sophomore academically and have completed at least one full year at their current school.
