No. 63 Anteaters Edged 4-3 by Pacific in Big West SemifinalsApril 26, 2008
INDIAN WELLS, The Tigers won two of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. Moritz Starke and Renan Delsin defeated senior Alex Sundling and sophomore Zac Tsai 8-2 in the No. 1 match. Seniors Victor Lamm and Ajay Ahluwalia defeated David Gonzalez and Austin Kakar 8-2 in the No. 2 slot. Artem Gramma and Vegerd Veskimagi clinched the doubles point with an 8-4 win over junior Trevor Dobson and freshman Khunpol Issara. In singles, Renan Delsin put Pacific up 2-0 as he defeated Trevor Dobson 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 3 match. Moritz Starke beat Alex Sundling 6-1, 6-4 in No. 1 singles to give Pacific a 3-0 lead. Freshman Stephen Stege beat Austin Kakar 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 6 match to cut the lead to 3-1. Senior Victor Lamm defeated David Gonzalez 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 in No. 2 singles to make it 3-2. Freshman Ryan Mayer tied the match at 3-3 after defeating Vegerd Veskimagi 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 5 match. Artem Gramma outlasted Khunpol Issara 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 in No. 4 singles to clinch the overall win for Pacific. The Anteaters conclude the season with an 11-14 record overall on the season. Results
