Passing Time with Nick SpittleJan. 25, 2008
Hello to all, Nick Spittle reporting live from the fourth floor of the Science Library here on the campus of UCI. First off I would like to wish my good friend Carson Clark a Happy Birthday. I know he is probably pretty stoked right now with all the facebook love he is receiving. Thatta boy, Carson.
Moving on. It is safe to say that we have had a bit of a slower start than we all hoped for. We are now 1-3 in MPSF and have a pair of matches this next week against Pepperdine and USC-both on the road. Although these are not the results we were looking for, each and every person on our team has had a history with winning at some point or another and knows exactly what must take place for the remainder of the season to be successful. There is another thing that I would like to address to the number of people who are reading this journal which is probably a total of zero at this point. Last week when we were playing in the Pyramid against the Beach, there was a certain someone who decided to heckle us (which is not a foreign thing to experience when you have an away game). Anyway, this person's attempt to steal our focus from the game was so poor that it boggled my mind. His material was directed at me which was his first mistake because my rear end was on the bench collecting splinters, and I guess he was trying to make fun of the fact that my younger brother, Anthony, was getting more playing time. I was surprised that he actually thought this would make me angry. The more playing time my brother gets, the happier it makes me. Irvine has been the biggest blessing I have ever had considering my first years here I was able to play with my older brother, and now the roles are swapped and I get to watch Tone play. There really is nothing better that I could ask for. That's all for now, folks. Thanks for tuning in. |
