Day Three Quotes - Penn State

May 2, 2008

Head Coach - Mark Pavlik:
"We're all looking forward for tomorrow's match. coming up against the Waves and a coach like Dunphy, you're going to have to play your best game. Dunphy's got a gold medal, and I'd rather face a 12-year-old. You know they're going to play hard, block balls, and not make mistakes. On our end, I'm glad to be here, because we felt like we had something special, and these guys really took charge and ran with it."

"A lack of familiarity means that you have maybe an hour of tape. Teams do what they do though, and there's no reason why this team wouldn't do what any other Dunphy-led team wouldn't do."

Matt Anderson:
"I think it's more about us being able to control our side of the net, instead of focusing on what they want to do. Tomorrow night is a chance to just get out there and see what we can do."

On mistakes that lost game two against Ohio State "Anytime that you give another team points by your own errors, you lose your momentum and give it to the other team. We had a focused practice today, and hopefully we can carry that over for tomorrow night."

Luke Murray:
"In crunch time, I have faith in all of my hitters. I'm not just going to set Matt. I have faith in all of our guys when we absolutely need a kill, and that's a nice thing to have."

On what makes Anderson successful
"He's pretty tall. [laughs] He's got great fundamental skills too, has a great arm swing, and is a great leader on the court. He's one of the guys that wants the ball in tough situations. He really has a killer instinct."
