Ryan Fortune's goal in sudden-victory overtime lifted No. 3 Stanford past second-ranked Cal, 10-9, in a championship semifinal. Michael Sharf, who had a game-high four goals for Cal, scored with 38 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime at 8-8. Sharf scored the lone goal in the first three-minute overtime period and Alex Pulido scored for Stanford in the second three-minute extra session to send the game in to sudden victory. Sage Wright led the Cardinal with three goals and Fortune added two. Stanford faces USC in the championship game at 5:20 p.m. while Cal meets UCLA in the third-place contest at 4:00 p.m. |
