Julie Brooks was named the second head coach in program history on August 24, 2006.

Brooks came to UCI after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Hawaii since 2004 and was a volunteer assistant coach at California from 2000-02. She has also worked for Cooke Island Distributors, Hawaii's distributor of Callaway Golf, since 2002.

She has also been a professional at the Oahu Country Club, Burning Tree Country Club and Elmwood Country Club and is a member of the LPGA Teaching Division.

Brooks played at the University of Arizona from 1986-1988, turning professional in 1989. She played on the Futures Golf Tour from 1989-1992 and received her B.A. degree in history from Hawaii Pacific University.
