Women's Volleyball Tradition

Scholar-Athletes Honors Individual Records Team Records All-Time Roster

The women's volleyball program competes and has found success in one of the best volleyball conference in the country, the Big West.  Since the Big West began sponsoring women's volleyball in 1984, the conference has sent a representative to the Final Four in 13 of the 16 NCAA Championships.

As a team, UCI has led the conference in digging twice and hitting percentage once. The team also holds the conference mark for highest block per game average with a 9.67 mark versus Hawaii in 1988.

Middle blocker Kris Roberts (1985-88) is the all-time Big West leader in blocking average (1.80) and solo blocks (293) as well as holding the top three spots on the season block average list.  Roberts also shares the match record for highest average per game at 4.00.

In 1988, the team qualified for its first NCAAs, but lost to Long Beach State in a grueling five-game match in the first round.
