NO. 1 UCLA BEATS NO. 17 CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE 12-4

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - The No. 1 UCLA Bruins defeated No. 17 Cal State Northridge 12-4 Saturday in the first round of the UC Irvine Women's Water Polo Invitational at Corona del Mar High School.

Katie Rulon led all scorers with four goals in the match for the Bruins. Brittany Rowe and Courtney Matthewson of UCLA and Dayna Van Gorder of Cal State Northridge each had two goals on the afternoon.

UCLA will next play in the quarterfinals at 2:00 p.m. and CSUN will move to the consolation bracket and will play at 3:15 at Corona del Mar High School.
