NO. 3 USC BEATS NO. 11 UC DAVIS 12-1

IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 3 USC Women of Troy defeated No. 11 UC Davis 12-1 in the quarterfinals of the UC Irvine Women's Water Polo Invitational Saturday at Anteater Aquatics Complex.

USC took a 1-0 lead in a goal by Julie Spataru with 3:49 left in the first period. Dakotah Mohr tied the match at 1-1 just 32 seconds into the second period. The Women of Troy then scored 11 straight goals to win 12-1.

The Women of Troy advance to the semifinals and will play Stanford at 11:45 a.m. Sunday in the and UC Davis will move to the consolation bracket and will face San Jose State will play at 9:15 a.m. with both teams playing at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
